Kate Howarth
Director
Graduating from Edge Hill University with a BA (Hons) in Primary Education and Child Development and Learning (with QTS) and then a Diploma in Early Years at Leeds Metropolitan, Kate is inordinately passionate about the care for, and development of our next generation. Kate is a Qualified Teacher and worked as a Reception class teacher at a ‘GOOD’ rated school in Halifax for 9 years, since becoming a mother to Frederick and Florence she has seen a gap in the market for play based, fun and educational activities within the pre-school setting.
Kate was born and bred in Todmorden, so alongside her desire to deliver the highest standards of care to 0-5 year olds, she is also passionate about her local community in the Calder Valley. Therefore, following her dream and setting up Harley Street Nursery and Vale Street Nursery has allowed her to create the educational and fun setting as well as creating jobs within the town that she is so fond of.
Lucy Evans
Nursery Manager & Safeguarding Lead
Lucy is our Nursery Manager and Safeguarding Lead of Harley and Vale Street Nursery. Having, four years experience initially as a Nursery Nurse, she was promptly promoted to Room Leader and then onto Management for the last eight years. She is highly qualified in all areas within the Early Years industry; her qualifications include 'SENCO', ‘Safeguarding Level 2’, ‘Designated Lead for Safeguarding and Child Protection in Early Years’, ‘How to achieve a GOOD with Ofsted’ and ‘Observation, Assessment and Planning within the EYFS’.
Lucy is a hands on, dedicated and caring Manager who understands the needs of each child in the Nursery, from communication and language, health and self care to fine and gross motor skills. Lucy’s ability to communicate effectively with staff, parents and children is exemplary, and this is her biggest attribute of all. Finally, Lucy manages the setting through an online learning journey , EY Log, which allows the Nursery Practitioners to upload photos, daily diaries and updates of your child’s development that you can then view at work or at home on your smart phone, tablet or computer. It was Lucy’s and Kate’s aim to implement this before the nursery opens for the ease of every parent.
William Howarth
Director of Marketing & Operations
With over 12 years experience as a Director, William cares for the ‘finer’ details in the operation of Harley and Vale Street Nursery. William’s insight into running the Nursery is invaluable to us and he can often shed light on new ways of working whilst ensuring that everything we offer is delivered to the highest possible standard.
William is partly responsible for the clean, slick and contemporary design of Harley and Vale Street Nursery after his education at a Greater Manchester College in 2008 with BTEC National Diploma in Design with ‘Distinction’.
William manages all of the Nursery’s Accounts as well as the website and social media whilst also rolling his sleeves up and keeping Harley Street the fresh and clean Nursery that your children love.
Limara Dawson
Deputy Manager
Limara has worked herself up from room leader to deputy manager. She is a fully qualified level three with over eight years experience. Limara's role will help with the day to day running of the nursery. Limara is trained to be a SENCO lead and has already completed her training in becoming a DSL.
Limara is fun, energetic, and enthusiastic and all of the Harley Street Children absolutely love playing with her whilst learning key techniques under her mentorship.
